Catchment area

The project is located in the centre of Charleroi, the fourth largest city of Belgium. It has approximately 200,000 inhabitants and 1,000,000 people in the wider area.

The catchment area covers a total population of 400,000 inhabitants. More than 220,000 people live in the primary catchment area, and 160,000 in the secondary zone. The surrounding urban area is made up of a primarily wealthy demographic.

As the only true commercial hub of the city centre, Rive Gauche will attract 7-8 million visitors each year.

Perfect accessibility

Although centrally located, Rive Gauche is only 500m from from the slip road to the Charleroi ring road, which allows quick access to major highways in the region. The extensive underground car park, located below the development, is quickly accessible from the ring road thanks to access via Boulevard Tirou.

In 2012, three new subway stations opened within 250m of Rive Gauche, improving the already very good public transportation network around the scheme.

Brussels South airport is situated in the north of the town only a few kilometres away.
